Pre-course setup

The pre-course setup will allow you to check that your computer can access the course room and your audio is setup correctly.  This is carried out in an online training 'room', very similar to the one which you will see when you attend your online course.

We would like you to complete the audio wizard well in advance of the course date, to ensure everything is working okay.  We would also recommend you complete it again when you login on the day of the course.

When you have completed the Audio Setup Wizard, you can close the course room and return to this page.

Launch pre-course setup

Please plug in your headphones before entering the room

Note: Clicking the link will open a new window, where you will be prompted to login.  Please login using the username and password we have provided or as a guest.

If you have any issues accessing the room, please get in touch with us and we will be happy to assist you. Call us on 01704 878988.

FAQs

What can I do to prepare for the online course?

  • The most important preparation is the Pre-Course Setup.  It is vital that you have completed this well in advance of the course.  If you have completed this setup then you should not encounter any problems on the day of the course.
  • We also ask you to download and print the course documentation, as this will help you during the course.
  • Finally, if you have any questions you would like to submit to the presenters regarding the course, please submit them using the form on the right hand column.

When do I need to log in to my course?

  • We open the course room 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. We ask all delegates to log in at least 20 minutes before the course starts. 10 minutes before the course begins, our presenter will run through a quick introduction to familiarise you with some of the features and to also ensure that your audio is working correctly.

My login or password doesn't work. What can I do?

  • Ring the UK Training Admin Team on 01704 878988, who will be happy to check the problem for you.

I can't hear the presenter. What should I do?

  • Most audio problems can be solved by exiting the course room and re-entering.
  • Please ensure that your headset speakers are on and your computer’s volume is at an audible level.
  • You may have accidentally muted the speakers on your headset.
  • Finally please complete the audio setup wizard when you enter the course room.

I can hear the audio twice...why?

  • This is usually as a result of entering the meeting twice. If you can hear the audio twice, alert our course moderator immediately using the submit a question box.  Our moderator will then correct the problem for you.

I can hear the audio, but the quality is poor.

  • The quality of the VoIP audio can be improved by using a high speed, wired connection and by closing other applications running in the background, including e-mail. Audio quality depends on the amount of bandwidth available and the processor’s speed and capacity. If other running applications are periodically checking the Internet for some reason, those other applications can take up bandwidth and processor resources.

I have finished the course but still have questions about the subject. What can I do?

  • If you still have questions about the subject after the course has ended then you can still post them using the form on the right hand column.
