David Impey is a solicitor of 37 years’ standing, during which he has specialised exclusively in corporate/company law for private limited companies. He lectures regularly on company law and practice, and is known for his lively, practical approach. David helps people to understand the relevant company law rules and regulations, identify the practical pitfalls to look out for and the available solutions, and choose the best options for their company or client.
David has worked in-house, been a director of a market-leading legal services company, and set up and run two small businesses of his own. His technical competence in company law is underpinned by an in-depth understanding of the needs and priorities of both small and medium sized businesses. David is also co-author of ‘The Company Director: Powers, Duties and Liabilities’, ‘Running a Limited Company’ and ‘Modern Law of Meetings’ and a contributor to ‘Jordans Company Administration and Governance.’
Kirsty Semple ACIS LLM is a Chartered Secretary. She worked in public practice for over 20 years, specialising in governance and compliance. She has acted as Secretary for a wide range of companies – both companies limited by shares and guarantee companies. The remainder of the time she provides consultancy, training and support to Boards. She is an experienced lecturer, who also has up to date, practical experience of the role of a secretary. Kirsty is also the editor of ICSA’s Charities’ Handbook.
