The customs requirements when importing and exporting can be extremely complex. Although most organisations use a third party to assist them, it is still absolutely crucial that you understand the process and your own responsibilities.

This course will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the customs procedures and offers practical tips to help you work seamlessly with your agents and forwarders to avoid costly problems and delays.

The course will cover the switch from CHIEF to CDS, customs declarations, customs documentation requirements, commodity codes, rules of origin, customs duties, taxes, reliefs, incoterms, supply chain risk and much more.

  • David Hooper

    David is Managing Director of Hooper and Co International Trade Consultancy Ltd, a business which specialises in providing advice and consultancy to businesses involved in international trade with a particular focus on customs, logistics and the practical issues of doing trade internationally.

    He is also Director and founder of Independent Freight Solutions Ltd, a Midlands based freight forwarder and Customs Brokerage which is also an Authorised Economic Operator for Customs and Security. David has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with a distinction from Aston University and a Degree in Politics, Economics and Philosophy.

    He is an experienced trainer having delivered training courses for the Department of International Trade and several Chambers of Commerce.
