Brexit White Paper is published
The Government has published a white paper setting out its aims and objectives for the outcome of the Brexit negotiations. The white paper is the first step in the legislative process that will see Britain leaving the EU thus there is not much fine detail and many of the points are a matter for negotiation.
However, the Government has confirmed its position on the two most important points of all – especially for UK Training’s customers who trade with the EU – Britain will leave both the single market and the customs union.
There will be a Great Repeal Bill, which will serve to absorb the entire body of existing EU legislation into domestic law. It will then be up to future UK Governments to pick and choose the bits they wish to repeal.
